Wearable robotics pioneer German Bionic is presenting the Apogee ULTRA – the world’s most powerful exoskeleton in series production – at LogiMAT 2025 in Stuttgart. With up to 36 kg (80 lbs) of weight compensation per lifting movement, it dynamically supports workers when lifting, walking and carrying, as well as when performing activities in a bent-over posture. Using the most advanced sensor technology, machine learning and artificial intelligence, the robotic exosuit adapts to its user in real time. With its 360-degree augmentation approach, it ensures maximum ergonomics, safety and efficiency. From 11 to 13 March 2025, visitors can experience the technology live at LogiMAT, Hall 7, Stand 7D03.
Workers in logistics who have to pick or move heavy goods often handle thousands of kilograms of loads every day – an enormous physical strain. The Apogee ULTRA makes this work safer and more ergonomic, creating a link between humans and machines.
Maximum relief in logistics and intralogistics tasks
The Apogee ULTRA provides fluid support for a wide range of tasks, regardless of the work environment. It offers dynamic assistance of up to 36 kg (80 lbs) for lifting, walking and carrying. In its special static mode, it relieves the lower back even during activities in a bent-over position. “This not only improves the health and well-being of people in intralogistics and logistics who work in physically demanding jobs, but also efficiency. With the Apogee ULTRA, German Bionic is setting a new standard for ergonomic support – powerful, connected and future-proof,” says Armin G. Schmidt, CEO of German Bionic.
Next level support: Additional power boost, smoother transitions, higher sensitivity
The German Bionic Apogee ULTRA sets new standards:
- Ultra Mode for an additional burst of strength when you need it most, adapted to particularly demanding lifting tasks.
- Smoother transitions between support modes for even more fluid movements.
- Higher sensitivity to recognize the smallest of movements and provide optimal support accordingly.
Existing Apogee models can also benefit from all the latest innovations via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
But the Apogee ULTRA is more than merely a high-performance robotic exoskeleton. It represents a truly adaptive support system. Thanks to advanced machine learning technology, it uses the data obtained from real-life applications to adapt to the individual needs of the user – from lifting style to physiology and specific activities. This ensures an optimal user experience that lab data cannot replicate.
Future-proof solution with 360-degree human augmentation
The Apogee ULTRA is part of German Bionic’s 360-degree augmentation approach. In addition to the exoskeleton and the accompanying app, it includes the German Bionic IO data insights platform and other human-machine interfaces. The connection to this cloud-based platform makes occupational safety measurable and tangible: data-driven analyses enable companies to identify, implement and sustain new occupational safety measures over the long term.
Better interaction and user experience
With the German Bionic Connect app, users can view their own individual data in detail – such as usage time, number of steps and compensated weight – and provide qualitative feedback. This improves safety, performance and motivation as well as acceptance.
Expert Forum at LogiMAT
New perspectives and solutions for work design – that’s what the Expert Forum at LogiMAT, in which German Bionic is also involved, is all about. For example, in the panel discussion ‘Better safe than sorry – safe and healthy working’ on Wednesday, 12 March 2025, from 1:00 to 1:50 p.m. in the LogiMAT Arena, moderated by Dr. Veronika Kretschmer, Senior Scientist and Scientific Board Member at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML. Our very own Roberto Di Marco (Head of Sales, German Bionic) will also be speaking there along with Sebastian Schulte (Lead Project Manager, Otto Group) and Florian Sattler (Business Development Manager EMEA, AutoStore System). Roberto di Marco will then present the Apogee ULTRA exoskeleton and show how it can be used to appeal to new generations of workers and also shape the workplaces of the future.
