Cray X: The world’s first and only robotic exoskeleton with TÜV certification

Certified safety and protection: After successfully completing exhaustive tests for electrical and mechanical safety, the smart German Bionic Cray X power suit has been awarded the “TÜV SÜD Safety Tested” mark.

The German Bionic Cray X exoskeleton has received TÜV SÜD certification, effective from July 2022. It is now the world’s first robotic exoskeleton to bear the “TÜV SÜD Safety Tested” certification mark. The award of this certificate was preceded by extensive electrical and mechanical safety tests.

The certification attests both the safety of the device and its high standards in terms of performance, usability, and features – including as the IP54 protection class – as well as the consistently high production quality. This is regularly monitored and confirmed by the internationally recognized TÜV SÜD testing and certification body.

“The issue of safety is especially important when it comes to direct interaction between humans and machines,“ says Armin G. Schmidt, co-founder and CEO of German Bionic . “As the global technology leader for robotic exoskeletons, we are also taking a pioneering role in the area of certification and thereby towards enabling the comparability of different technological approaches.”
